On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of KKU, Asst. Prof. Acharawan Topark-Ngarm, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, and Asst.Prof. Dr. Uthaiwan Danwiwat, Director of the Confucius Institute, attended the international forum “2025 HEHE Civilization Forum – University Presidents Forum.” The event was held to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China and to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of China–Thailand Friendship.
The forum was co-organized by the International Confucius Association, Peking University, and Chulalongkorn University, with support from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand and the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC). The event aimed to promote cultural exchange and academic collaboration between leading universities in Thailand and China under the overarching theme of peaceful coexistence based on innovation, mutual understanding, and the values of civilization.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, President of KKU, was honored to deliver the session “Reshaping Education through Scientific and Technological Innovations” (Panel I). This panel focused on developing new learning models by integrating modern technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and emerging technologies. The discussion also emphasized the importance of incorporating the humanities to drive a balanced and sustainable education system.
The participation of Khon Kaen University representatives in this forum reflects the role of Thai higher education institutions as leaders in international academic cooperation. It also highlights their position as platforms for the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and culture, contributing to a sustainable and mutually understanding global future.
