Khon Kaen University Library has installed body temperature detection cameras at the Kalyanivattananusorn Building, Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and the Sirikit Heart Center, Northeast, to screen service users who meet the criteria for monitoring and preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

During the time that the library office was closed according to the announcement of the Khon Kaen Provincial Communicable Disease Committee, body temperature detection camera equipment was installed at the Kalyanivattananusorn Building, Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and the Sirikit Heart Center, Northeast, to support the work of medical personnel during the COVID-19 outbreak crisis.

Mr. Phanuwat Uthaiban, Information Technology Officer, Information Technology Division, Library Office, Khon Kaen University One of the installation and maintenance teams provided information on the features of the body temperature detection camera, saying that the camera installed by the library is a camera that can measure body temperature with a thermal sensor that is approximately 96 percent accurate. In addition, it also uses Face recognition technology to detect faces. It can capture images of faces while wearing a mask. It records data retrospectively to retrieve data for at least 90 days. The special thing is that the system will warn or display a message if the body temperature is abnormally high (over 37.5 degrees) and can be viewed online.
