At 6:00 p.m. on July 19, 2024 Assoc. Prof..Dr..Chanchai Panthongviriyakul President of Khon Kaen University, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Niyom Wongphongkham Vice President for Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, joined the opening ceremony of "Satta Isan Muhaeng", which Khon Kaen University, together with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), promoted tourism by organizing the "Satta Isan Muhaeng" event during 19-21 July 2024. In the opening ceremony Mr. Sirawat Pinijphanit The Deputy Governor of Khon Kaen Province presided over the opening ceremony. Mr. Chanyut White gold The Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand's Activities, government executives, private sectors and the general public attended the event at the Cultural Square, Art Gallery, Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen Province.
The “Isan Faith Muhaeng” event is a tourism promotion activity that aims to stimulate tourism to open up experiences to the world of faith and the power of the Isan talisman. Within the event, there are many activities for tourists to join in fortune telling and have fun, such as the Imagination Room beyond dreams, conveying the culture and stories of Isan beliefs through virtual reality technology (Immusive), and other activities related to beliefs and faith to be a highlight to attract tourists and create the phenomenon of “merit tourism” or faith tourism, stimulating real travel in the area to drive the local economy.
In addition to cultural and belief activities, there were also mini-concerts by famous artists throughout the three days, which received a lot of attention from the public. It is considered a successful activity in promoting tourism to spread travel to attractive cities in the Northeast very well.
