From the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (OPMHESI), by the special subcommittee to manage the project to produce new graduates to create a high-performance workforce for industry. New Growth Engine In accordance with the Thailand 4.0 policy and the reform of Thai higher education, the 3/2022 meeting approved 20 new graduate programs under the New Generation Graduate Production Project to be developed as prototype programs for the country's workforce skills development project. (Re-Skill/Up-Skill/New-Skill) Khon Kaen University has 4 courses that have been selected as prototype courses:
1. Precision Agriculture Course
2. Agricultural Biotechnology Program
3. Safe agriculture management and organic agriculture curriculum
4. Agricultural Business Management Program in the Digital Age (Agricultural Business for Digital Society)
All courses are free to study. The first course that was started was Agricultural Business Management Program in the Digital Age (Agricultural Business for Digital Society) There are 200 interested people from the target groups of new farmers (Smart Farmer) and Young Smart Farmer groups, those starting agricultural businesses, agricultural business operators including producers, processors, traders and exporters, community enterprise groups and those interested in agricultural businesses applying to join the project, with 58 people selected to study. The course duration is 2 months, from July 15 - September 21, 2023. The course is divided into 5 modules. As follows Development of entrepreneurial concepts in agricultural business Designing agricultural business models and managing modern agricultural businesses, using design thinking for marketing and digital marketing, adding value to agricultural products and branding. and Marketing of agricultural business services with spirit Learn both ways Onsite and Online By studying in practice, students will study and observe work in workplaces. When the course is completed, students will receive a certificate of completion and can collect 9 credits throughout the course (from studying 3 modules) to be used for further study at a higher level in the future.

Prof. Dr. Darunee Chotithayangkun, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University Talking about the creation of 4 prototype non-degree courses of KKU under the project to produce new graduates, he said that in a day when economic, social, and technological changes are changing rapidly and have a significant impact on the role of universities in almost every mission, in terms of education, we will see that currently universities are not just places for people who study in the system, which is decreasing day by day because we are entering an aging society. But universities will be a learning space for people of all groups and all ages to come and study, especially reskilling/upskilling.

On the sideMs. Nannapat Phiraphrutthiphong A 62-year-old retired civil servant who applied for the Agricultural Business for Digital Society program said that she used to be a nurse in Pathum Thani Province. Now, after retiring, she and her husband have returned to live as farmers in Khon Kaen Province and also do Khok Nong Na. The reason for studying this program is because it meets the needs of our lifestyle. We can work and study at the same time, which includes both on-site and online learning. We can learn from experienced teachers who give us advice on the spot. We can learn from people of various ages and professions. We can exchange experiences and perspectives on problem solving. Importantly, this program opens up opportunities for farmers who lack access to knowledge sources to study more in order to apply it to their agricultural careers in a quality manner. Therefore, I would like the good projects of Khon Kaen University to be distributed to all areas so that people who lack opportunities can come to study and gain knowledge to further develop their careers.
partMr. Netirat Duangpayap A 19-year-old second-year student majoring in plant pathology at the Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, said about enrolling in this program that she is from Nong Song Hong District. Her father is a civil servant and her family runs an ice and water business. She dreamed of having her own agricultural business and wanted to be successful. This motivated her to move forward steadily. When she found out that this program was open, she saw an opportunity to make her dream come true. So she enrolled in addition to studying in the regular system. She was willing to work hard and struggle today in order to succeed in the future. When she enrolled, she was not disappointed because she got to exchange and learn from students who were both doctors, assistant professors, associate professors, and farmers. It was a very good experience. Importantly, it helped her to further her future in doing business in the future because she had created good connections in the classroom. She wanted Khon Kaen University to organize more good programs like this because it was very beneficial to the public.
