The Office of Academic Service and the Graduate School host a national workshop to master the 2024–2027 EdPEx criteria, aiming for the EdPEx300 milestone through sustainable social devotion.

The Office of Academic Service at Khon Kaen University (KKU), in collaboration with the Graduate School, has launched a strategic initiative to strengthen senior leadership capabilities. A specialised workshop for senior executives from across the country was held to provide intensive training on the Education Criteria for Performance Excellence (EdPEx) for the 2024–2027 cycle. The programme focuses on achieving the EdPEx300 standard and establishing ‘Social Enterprise’ models to generate sustainable revenue in line with the University’s commitment to social mission.
The workshop, titled “Performance Management for Organisational Excellence for Senior Executives using EdPEx Criteria”, was held from 17 to 19 May 2026 in Phuket. This initiative was designed to enable Thai higher education institutions to transcend traditional management constraints, transforming them into High-Performing Organisations (HPO).

A Holistic Vision for Integrated Results
The session featured Professor Kiatichai Faksri, Ph.D., Dean of the Graduate School and a national expert in organisational quality assessment. Professor Faksri led participants through a shift in strategic thinking, emphasising the analysis of the ‘Organisational Profile’ to align with the latest EdPEx criteria. This holistic approach ensures that all operational functions are aligned to deliver significant, high-quality outcomes.
Strategic Highlight: Evolving into a Social Enterprise
The workshop’s central message was the transition from traditional quality systems to a Social Enterprise model. Professor Faksri introduced the concept of ‘Business Portfolio’ analysis to help public agencies and educational institutions transform into social enterprises. This modern management trend prioritises value creation, allowing organisations to achieve financial self-reliance while generating a measurable social impact, consistent with KKU’s core philosophy of serving community and society.

Four Key Pillars for Sustainable Transformation:
- Systematic Management: Developing clear, measurable administrative systems (SAR) while accurately identifying strengths and Opportunities for Improvement (OFI).
- Roadmap to EdPEx300: Establishing a strategic roadmap to guide agencies toward achieving international quality standards at the 300-point level.
- New Business Models: Applying Social Enterprise concepts to restructure services for sustainable revenue generation.
- Leadership Network: Building a collaborative network among national leaders to exchange best practices.

The Office of Academic Service at Khon Kaen University is firmly convinced that “leaders who master systemic management are essential drivers of national competitiveness.” This workshop represents more than just a study of quality criteria; it marks the establishment of a ‘new standard’ for educational administration and academic services, committed to serving society with world-class professionalism.
