
On 26 March 2026, the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences at Khon Kaen University welcomed a delegation from the Medical Sciences Centre 10, Ubon Ratchathani. Associate Professor Jureerat Daduang, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, along with the faculty’s administrative team and academic staff, formally received Dr. Kathayut Nikaphruk, Director of the Medical Sciences Centre 10, Ubon Ratchathani, and his team at the Dean’s Office Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Building 2.
Associate Professor Jureerat Daduang stated that the study visit was organised to facilitate the exchange of knowledge in research, innovation development, and medical laboratory technology. It also aimed to establish a network for future academic collaboration. The delegation was presented with the faculty’s distinguished research and innovations, including the PCR-LFS technique for HLA-B*58:01 gene detection, projects in Precision Medicine, in vitro studies on the biological activities of natural compounds, the development of preservation media for microorganisms, the OV-ATK innovation, and a rapid and effective test kit for detecting melioidosis in environmental samples.
Furthermore, a joint meeting was held to discuss pathways for advancing current research and innovations towards practical application within the public health system, thereby laying the groundwork for long-term inter-institutional collaboration.
Following the presentations, the delegation toured the faculty’s research laboratories, including Research Laboratory 2 and the facilities on the fifth floor, where they observed the use of artificial urine for preparing proficiency testing (PT) samples. They also visited the Centre for Innovation and Standards in Medical Technology and Physical Therapy (CISMaP), where demonstrations were conducted on the analysis of calculus composition using the FTIR technique and the PT-Hemoculture programme for automated blood culture systems.
This visit marks a significant step for the Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Khon Kaen University, in strengthening its academic network and advancing its capabilities in medical laboratory research and diagnostics. These efforts support the development of the nation’s public health system and contribute to the sustainable improvement of quality of life for the public.
