Faculty of Veterinary Medicine organizes the 15th Veterinary Integration Camp for a community in Nongkhai
June 18, 2019 – Faculty of Veterinary Medicine by Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Student Union held the 15th Veterinary Integration Camp. Mr. Wiboon Lertwatanasombat, Livestock Officer of Nongkhai presided over the opening ceremony with Mr. Suwan Wongbuakaew, Livestock Officer of Muang Nongkhai District and Mr. Sangwan Phonphut, Director of Arunrungsri Kindergarten. Asst. Prof. Dr. Suwit Uppasai, Associate Dean for Student Development and Alumni Relation and Asst. Prof. Thanakan Nasri, the Project advisor made a reporting speech. Over 300 people attended the ceremony including village heads, assistants to village heads, lecturers, camp officers and interested people. The event took place at Arunrungsri Kindergarten, Muang Nongkhai District, Nongkhai.
The project was aimed at training professional as well as life skills among the vet students. Activities included health examination, drenching, vaccination, and transfer of knowledge in taking care of animals, in how to produce herbal products from indigenous herbs. The students also had a chance to learn the cultures and local wisdoms, how to live together in the community while public-mindedness is enhanced. The community people were promoted to be aware of accurate ways of animal raising. The project covered 43 villages in Muang Nongkhai District, Nongkhai and lasted about 10 days from June 19, 2019 until June 28, 2019.
The 15th Veterinary Integration Camp received monetary support at an amount of 150,000 baht from Office of Academic Service of Khon Kaen University, and 50,000 baht from the revenue of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The project expected improvement in the quality of life of pets, animals and people in the 43 villages.
