On 27 February 2026, from 07:00 to 10:00 hrs, the Faculty of Science at Khon Kaen University organised a merit-making ceremony featuring an offering of alms to nine monks, marking the occasion of its 62nd anniversary, which officially falls on 28 February. The event took place at the Learning Garden, adjacent to the SC.05 Building.
The ceremony was presided over on the monastic side by Luang Por Preedee Phonlayano of Wat Pa Kittiyanuson in Phu Wiang District, Khon Kaen. In attendance were university administrators, deans from various faculties, faculty members, staff, students, alumni, and esteemed retired personnel. Assistant Professor Angkana Boonyued, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Science, along with her administrative team, faculty, and students, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests.


The Faculty was honoured to have Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, preside over the lighting of candles and incense to pay homage to the Triple Gem. The monks then delivered a chant of sacred blessings and sprinkled holy water upon all attendees for their prosperity and good fortune.
Later, at 10:30 hrs, a delegation from the Faculty, led by Associate Professor Khatcharin Siriwong, Associate Dean for Administration; Associate Professor Pimwadee Pornpongrungrueng, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; and Associate Professor Somnuek Worawiset, Associate Dean for Student Development and Alumni Relations, along with staff and students, visited the Khon Kaen School for the Blind. They presented a donation of essential supplies and dry food, as well as educational scholarships, to support the school’s operations.
