KKU Pharmacy Student Wins Outstanding Ethics Award at NEPhReC 2026

On 21–22 February 2026, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Khon Kaen University proudly announced the success of Mr. Panop Sanimthong, a fifth-year pharmacy student, who received the “Outstanding Student in Ethics Award for 2026.” The award was presented at the 17th Northeastern Pharmacy Research Conference (NEPhReC 2026), held at Mahasarakham University.

This recognition reflects Mr Sanimthong’s extensive leadership experience and sustained commitment to community service. He previously served as President of the Student Union of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and as a committee member of the Pharmacy Students’ Federation of Thailand. In his role as class representative, he demonstrated transparency, accountability, and a strong adherence to the principles of good governance. He effectively coordinated communication between the faculty, lecturers, and students, overseeing operational and financial matters in a systematic manner while consistently supporting his peers with integrity, fairness, and dedication.

Academically, Mr. Sanimthong has been involved in several significant projects. He was the Vice President and a speaker for the Pharm House KKU 2025 orientation programme, a committee member for the PharmQuiz KKU 2025 examination development, and the head of chemical procurement for professional licensure exam preparations. He also acted as a course coordinator for the pharmacy curriculum and participated in national pharmacy-related quiz competitions. Furthermore, he won first place in a debate competition during the Pharmacy Academic Project and was awarded a scholarship for Outstanding Student Activist for the academic year 2024.

Beyond his academic and extracurricular contributions, Mr Panop Sanimthong has completed the required professional internships in both hospital and community pharmacy settings. He performed his duties in strict accordance with professional ethical standards, prioritising patient safety, medication accuracy, and effective communication with service users.

The Outstanding Student in Ethics Award not only reflects his exemplary conduct but also highlights his well-rounded personal development in academics, leadership, and public-mindedness. These qualities are essential to the pharmacy profession and serve as an excellent model for fellow students and society. His achievement aligns with the university’s mission to produce graduates who possess both knowledge and moral integrity for the sustainable development of the nation.
