On 17 February 2026, the Institute of General Education at Khon Kaen University visited the Faculty of Medical Technology to present and clarify the newly revised General Education Curriculum of 2025. The visit aimed to ensure the faculty’s thorough understanding of the updated curriculum, enabling them to accurately apply it in their own curriculum development. The session also provided an opportunity for questions and exchange of ideas between the two units, with numerous faculty members and staff attending at the Faculty of Medical Technology, Khon Kaen University.

During the meeting, Assistant Professor Supaporn Phadungkij, Deputy Dean for Education, warmly welcomed the guests and highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Faculty of Medical Technology and the Institute of General Education, especially in managing the 24-credit general education courses that students must complete. The faculty also contributes by offering two general education courses.

Assistant Professor Dr Narin Chomphupuang, Acting Deputy Director of the Institute of General Education, introduced the new 2025 General Education Curriculum. He emphasised that the curriculum’s key focus is the development of five core competencies. The programme has expanded from 11 courses to 103 courses, allowing faculties to create courses and students to select those that best suit their needs and the context of each field of study. This enhancement is designed to better prepare students for practical application in their future careers and daily lives. The curriculum also details the credit structure for general education courses and guidelines for course management. Furthermore, the Faculty of Medical Technology was invited to participate in offering general education courses, with explanations provided on relevant procedures and requirements.
The meeting atmosphere encouraged participants from the Faculty of Medical Technology to ask questions and exchange views with the Institute’s team, fostering mutual understanding and effective application.

The Institute of General Education plans to visit all 21 faculties between January and February 2026. These visits aim to clarify and ensure readiness for curriculum design and revision that align precisely with the university’s goals and directions.
