KKBS and Social Value Accelerator Partner to Drive Sustainable National Development Signing of MoU Aims to Deepen Research Capacity and Enhance Social Impact Assessment

On Thursday, 5 February 2026, the Khon Kaen University Business School (KKBS), Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Social Value Accelerator (SVA)—also known as the Social Value Assessors Association of Thailand. This academic collaboration aims to “Drive and Promote Social Value Acceleration” by elevating research and developing personnel expertise in social impact assessment, positioning the university as a leading institution that drives sustainable economic development and improved quality of life.

 

The signing ceremony was honoured by executives from both organisations. Representing the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy were Assistant Professor Pongsutti Phuensane, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy; Pongpan Sattathip, Ph.D., Associate Dean for Industry Relations and Sustainability; and Associate Professor Suppawat Meephrom, Ph.D., Head of the Bachelor of Business Administration Programme in Service and Event Business Management.

Representing the Social Value Accelerator were Amphorn Apithanakorn, Ph.D., President of the Social Value Assessors Association of Thailand; Mr. Supachai Satchapiboonkit, Vice President of the Association; and Sakultip Kiratipanwong, Ph.D., Secretary-General of the Association. The ceremony was held at the Wang Lert Room (SMART CLASSROOM), Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, Khon Kaen University.

Assistant Professor Pongsutti Phuensane, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy, stated that this collaboration focuses on driving development based on sustainable principles. Both parties agree that measuring and promoting social impact is a crucial mechanism for policy design and creating social innovation. This cooperation will tangibly and transparently elevate academic services to reflect social outcomes, ensuring they are internationally recognised. Furthermore, it will encourage systematic participation between the Faculty and partner networks by integrating policy, teaching, research, and academic services. This unified approach aims to lay the groundwork for a knowledge-based society and create actual change at the community, societal, and national levels.

Amphorn Apithanakorn, Ph.D., President of the Social Value Assessors Association of Thailand, remarked, “The Social Value Accelerator (Social Value Assessors Association of Thailand) is highly delighted and honoured to sign this MoU. This is a significant step that will lead Khon Kaen University toward becoming a leading institution that sustainably drives social and economic development and enhances the quality of life for its citizens. This partnership aims to strengthen social research, academic excellence, and community service, while also improving the quality of personnel, students, and systematic impact evaluation.” Dr. Amphorn expressed confidence that this marks an excellent start towards developing Thai society together, benefiting students, faculty members, researchers, communities, society, and the nation.

This partnership with the Social Value Accelerator represents a strategic milestone in reinforcing KKBS’s role as a catalyst for sustainable development. Through close collaboration with network partners, the Faculty aims to advance social value creation, strengthen the foundations of a knowledge-based society, and translate academic expertise into genuine, long-term societal impact.
