Ambassadors and International Guests Participate in Khon Kaen International Marathon 2026

Diplomats and International Dignitaries Honour Khon Kaen International Marathon with Participation Across Two Days of Events.

Ambassadors and international guests honoured Khon Kaen International Marathon 2026 by joining the competition across two days.

On 10 January 2026, the event was honoured by the participation of Mr. Alexander K. Schlesier, Assistant to the Defence Attaché to Thailand and the Philippines, and his spouse, Mrs. Ute Schlesier, from the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Thailand. They participated in the Fun Run category, covering 5.4 kilometres.

On 11 January 2026, the marathon saw the participation of His Excellency Mr. Dhan Bahadur Oli, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, along with a delegation from the Embassy of Nepal in Thailand, and Mr. Stive Zepi, Second Secretary (Chief of Administration and Finance), along with a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of France in Thailand. They competed in the Full Marathon (42.195 kilometres), the Half Marathon (21.1 kilometres), and the Mini Marathon (11.55 kilometres).

H.E. Mr. Dhan Bahadur Oli, Ambassador of Nepal to Thailand, remarked: “On behalf of the Embassy of Nepal in Thailand, I am extremely delighted and honoured to participate in this event. What impressed me the most was the warm welcome from the people of Khon Kaen, the beauty of the natural surroundings, and the excellent support and facilitation provided throughout the race, including the impressive atmosphere of Khon Kaen University. I hope there will be opportunities to foster academic cooperation between universities in Nepal and Khon Kaen University. I would like to invite everyone from around the world to join the Khon Kaen International Marathon in future, as it is a health-promoting event filled with great friendship and camaraderie.”

Mr. Stive Zepi, Second Secretary (Chief of Administration and Finance) for the Embassy of the Republic of France, stated: “My delegation and I are very pleased to have participated in the Khon Kaen International Marathon 2026. This marks our first time competing in this event, and we are impressed by the professional organisation and the warm welcome we received. Furthermore, I would like to commend Khon Kaen University, as the organiser, for its strong focus on safety, security, and the well-being of all participants. I intend to invite colleagues from the French Embassy to participate in the next iteration of the event.”
