Guangxi University of Foreign Languages visits Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies to expand collaboration and establish a Joint Office

On 13 November 2025, delegates from Guangxi University of Foreign Languages (GUFL), led by Dr. Ouyang Youming, Associate Dean of the International College, together with Dr. Rungsarith Sengmoon, Executive Director of Ouyang Language School, Khon Kaen, and Pol.Col. Dr. Chatree Kraipeerapun, visited the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University.

 They were warmly welcomed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Suntaree Buchitchon, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, and the faculty’s executive team. The visit was conducted under the framework of the existing university-level Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Khon Kaen University and Guangxi University of Foreign Languages, with the shared aim of strengthening academic and cultural collaboration between Thailand and China.

A key highlight of the meeting was the discussion on the preparation for establishing a Joint Office between the two institutions at the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University. The office aims to serve as a central hub for academic collaboration, personnel and student exchange, as well as a driving mechanism for strengthening Thailand–China cooperation in tangible and sustainable ways.

Further discussions also covered future initiatives, including opportunities for students of the Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University, Nong Khai Campus, particularly in Chinese language learning, participation in international cultural activities, and pathways toward future academic collaboration projects. Discussions also touched upon possibilities such as joint curriculum development, cultural exchange activities, cooperative education, and international research funding applications.

 This visit marked another milestone in the enduring partnership between Khon Kaen University and Guangxi University of Foreign Languages, paving the way for deeper academic collaboration, cultural understanding, and sustainable international cooperation in the years ahead.
