On 27 October 2568, Khon Kaen University (KKU), in collaboration with Prince of Songkla University (PSU) and Chiang Mai University (CMU), hosted the third SROI Practitioner Workshop under the collaborative initiative known as “Three Forces for the Nation” (3 พลังเพื่อแผ่นดิน). The primary objective was to strengthen the capacity of personnel working on academic collaboration and social and economic impact assessment, alongside officially launching the SROI Platform developed through the partnership of the three universities. Over 200 faculty members and researchers attended the event at Sirikunakorn 3 Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, explained, “SROI, or Social Return on Investment, is a crucial methodology for evaluating project value. It looks beyond financial returns to measure the social benefits generated for stakeholders. By converting social returns into monetary values, SROI enables project managers to clearly measure and communicate the value of their projects, supporting long-term social development.”
The workshop, hosted by the Vice President for Enterprise and Societal Sustainability of Khon Kaen University, took place between 27 and 28 October 2568. The sessions were divided into sub-groups covering SROI concepts, practical application, calculation formulas, and analytical interpretation. SROI evaluates outcomes across three dimensions: economic impact, social impact, and environmental impact. This project forms part of the ongoing collaboration among the three leading universities to create tools and knowledge for assessing the impact of various projects, ensuring alignment with sustainable development goals and addressing real societal needs.
