On October 12, 2025, Ms. Naphak Kamlangsil, a fourth-year student from the Faculty of Law, Khon Kaen University, proudly brought honor to Thailand and the university by winning the Silver Medal at the WAKO Uzbekistan World Cup 2025, competing in the Ring – Low Kick category, 52 kg division. The competition was held in the Republic of Uzbekistan from October 7–12, 2025. She is currently ranked 5th in the world by the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO).
Reflecting on her journey, Naphak shared that representing Thailand on the world stage was both an honor and a major challenge. With less experience than many of her international opponents, she faced tremendous pressure to prove herself worthy of representing her country. “I had to push myself harder than ever — both physically and mentally — to overcome my limitations,” she said. “The support from my coaches and teammates kept me motivated through every obstacle.”
Despite her intensive training schedule in Bangkok, Naphak has managed to balance her athletic career with her studies in law. “Law students have to read a lot, and since I often train away from campus, I mostly study on my own. Luckily, my friends always help summarize lessons for me, which allows me to keep up with classes and never fall behind,” she explained.
After earning the silver medal, Naphak expressed her pride and gratitude, noting how much she has grown through the experience. “This competition helped me unlock many things within myself — focus, composure, and confidence. I’ve seen real progress in both my mindset and my fighting skills. My goal now is to keep improving every day, achieving success in both my sport and my education.”
The Uzbekistan Kickboxing World Cup 2025 served as a key ranking event for athletes worldwide, determining eligibility for the upcoming World Championships. Competitors in Naphak’s division represented five countries — Thailand, Poland, Israel, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan — making the tournament an important stage for showcasing Thailand’s athletic potential in international kickboxing.
Khon Kaen University and the Faculty of Law have provided full support for Naphak’s journey, assisting with academic coordination and flexible study arrangements during her training periods. This strong institutional support has enabled her to pursue excellence both academically and athletically.
Naphak Kamlangsil’s remarkable achievement stands as an inspiration not only to KKU students but also to young athletes across the nation — proving that determination, perseverance, and disciplined time management are the keys to success, both in the classroom and on the world stage.
