Faculty of Education, KKU Welcomes EEF Executives to Discuss Guidelines for Supervising and Encouraging “Teacher for Rural Students” Scholarship Recipients

September 8, 2025 – The Faculty of Education at Khon Kaen University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanjug, Dean of the Faculty of Education, along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jarunee Samart, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Sumalee Chaijaroen, Program Chair for Early Childhood and Primary Education, welcomed the executive team and committee from the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), led by Mr. Nopporn Suwanruji. The visit aimed to discuss operational guidelines and follow up on the progress of the “Teacher for Rural Students” project, a collaboration to produce and develop quality teachers for schools in remote areas.

The discussion focused on exchanging experiences and planning collaborative efforts to supervise and support the 4th and 5th cohorts of scholarship students under the “Teacher for Rural Students” project, who are currently studying at the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University. The goal is to ensure they receive full potential development in both academics and life skills, preparing them to become professional teachers who will return to develop their hometowns. Additionally, the EEF executives had the opportunity to meet with the students directly to listen to their feedback and provide encouragement.

This collaboration between the Faculty of Education at Khon Kaen University and the EEF on the “Teacher for Rural Students” project reflects a strong commitment to creating quality and idealistic educational innovators. This not only provides educational opportunities for underprivileged youth but also applies educational knowledge and innovation to solve teacher shortages and reduce educational disparities in remote areas. This is in line with the faculty’s mission to produce graduates who create value for society and supports the goal of sustainable and quality development to strengthen the nation’s education system.
