COLA KKU Welcomes UMY Delegation to Strengthen International Academic Collaboration

On September 1, 2025, the College of Local Administration, Khon Kaen University (COLA KKU), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirisak Laochankham, Dean of COLA, warmly welcomed a delegation from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Indonesia. The delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc., Rector of UMY, accompanied by Prof. Dr. Andi Adawiah, Rector of Universitas Lamappapoleonro (UNIPOL), South Sulawesi, Prof. Dr. Eliza Meiyani MSi (Ninik), DIP, UMY, and Mr. Herman Lawelai, PhD student in Government Science, UMY, at the meeting room of the College of Local Administration, Khon Kaen University.

The meeting focused on strengthening academic collaboration in three key areas:

-Academic Exchange and Research Quality Enhancement

Participation of KKU experts as external examiners for proposal defenses and dissertation examinations, conducted both online and onsite, to raise the quality of doctoral research.

-Joint Research and Publications

Doctoral students from both universities will engage in collaborative research projects, with opportunities for co-supervision and co-authorship in high-impact journals (Q1–Q2).

-Student Exchange Programs

Opportunities for master’s and doctoral students to join exchange programs of various durations, fostering cross-cultural learning and international academic experiences.

This partnership marks another milestone in COLA KKU’s commitment to advancing internationalization, reinforcing Khon Kaen University’s vision to become a “World-Class Research and Development University.”

Another significant step toward global academic collaboration—creating impactful research and worldwide opportunities.
