The Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, continues to advance educational personnel development by organizing a hands-on workshop titled “AI-Ready Preschool Teacher: Play, Prompt, Imagine and Innovation.” The program aims to enhance the capabilities and AI tool proficiency of teachers from the Demonstration School, Kindergarten Division. The workshop is conducted under the framework of the “KKUED AI Competency”—an initiative developed by the Faculty itself—alongside the “AI Certificate for Educator” evaluation and tracking system.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanajak, Dean of the Faculty of Education, stated:
“This activity is part of our strategic mission to align with Khon Kaen University’s Smart Campus and academic excellence goals. By integrating AI into teacher development, we aim to empower educators to design innovative teaching approaches that effectively respond to the needs of today’s learners. We began this initiative with kindergarten teachers at the Demonstration School and plan to expand it to instructors at other educational levels. Our goal is to prepare teachers to become leaders in educational transformation.”
The workshop offered participants both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in applying AI to design and develop age-appropriate educational innovations for preschool children. Participants also tested the Faculty’s newly developed tool, the “AI-powered Teaching Material Development Tool,” which helps educators efficiently create diverse and engaging teaching materials.
Ms. Narissara Raksri, a teacher for Kindergarten 1/1 and one of the participants, shared:
“For kindergarten teachers, creating teaching materials like storybooks, worksheets, and other classroom resources is a routine and essential task. Having AI as a support tool makes the process much easier, while also generating appealing illustrations that are likely to capture children’s attention. In this training, we learned how to use AI to create stories and animations quickly and easily. I plan to apply these new skills to develop other teaching materials for use in my classroom.”
This initiative reflects the Faculty of Education’s commitment to producing professional educators who are academically excellent and technologically adept. It underscores a continuous effort to develop educational innovations and elevate the quality of education in Thailand, preparing students with the essential skills needed for the future.
