In a groundbreaking educational initiative this December, Faculty of Education members and graduate students from the Master’s Program in Innovation, Technology, and Learning Sciences (ITALS ED) at the Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University, participated in a study visit to the Information Technology Museum and the Rama IX Museum. The event was organized by the National Science Museum Organization (NSM) and focused on experience-based learning and the integration of informal learning. Khon Kaen University’s innovative ITALS ED program is revolutionizing how future educators approach science communication. Through an immersive two-day expedition at Thailand’s premier technology museums, graduate students are reimagining the future of learning.
Instead of traditional classroom walls, students found themselves surrounded by cutting-edge technology and interactive displays at the Information Technology Museum and Rama IX Museum. This wasn’t a typical field trip – it was a carefully orchestrated blend of formal education and experiential learning, designed to transform passive observers into active innovators. Students didn’t just observe technology – they lived it. Through hands-on interactions with exhibits showcasing the evolution of internet networks, AI systems, and IoT devices, participants experienced firsthand how yesterday’s innovations shaped today’s digital landscape. The museums transformed into dynamic laboratories where theory met practice in real-time.
The initiative represents more than just a museum visit; it’s a bold step toward revolutionizing Thai education. These future educators are now armed with practical experience in bridging the gap between traditional and informal learning methods, preparing them to shape the next generation of science communicators and digital innovators.
