April 2, 2024 – Chumphae District , Khon Kaen, by Miss Oijai Khamboonruang, Chumphae Head District Officer, AIS – by Khun Witsarut Pisarn, Head of the Northeast Operation Unit of Advance Infor Service, Public Company, held a ceremony to donate fund for promoting the community product development process of the community, community enterprise that promotes Sub-district agricultural occupation of Non Udom Sub-district, Chumphae District, Khon Kaen. Mrs. Pairin Charnchit, Chairperson of the community enterprises that promote Sub-district agricultural occupation of Non Udom Sub-district, Chumphae District, Khon Kaen received the donated fund. Khon Kaen University, led by Dr. Apirachai Wongsriworapol, Director of Khon Kaen University Science Park; Mr. Sarump Mongsungnoern, Khon Kaen Commercial Affairs Head Officer, Mr. Wantee Nuangchumpol, Chumphae Agricultural Head Officer, personnel and community people acted as witnesses and later held a meeting to discuss the deployment in research and innovation to answer the needs of the community and society. The event was held at the community enterprise that promotes Sub-district agricultural occupation of Non Udom Sub-district, Chumphae District, Khon Kaen.
Miss Oijai Khamboonruang, Chumphae Head District Officer said, “From the visit made by the Commission for Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of the House of Representatives to the prototype community in the area being supported in research and innovation of Khon Kaen University, at the community enterprise that promotes Sub-district agricultural occupation of Non Udom Sub-district, Chumphae District, Khon Kaen, on February 20, 2024; Chumphae District and Chumphae Agricultural Office then cooperated to make an official request to the commission to help support Thapthim Chumphae rice cultivar, the rice cultivar with high biochemical matters, including both anthocyanin and proanthocyanin. Khon Kaen University has collaborated with Khon Kaen Commercial Affairs Office to lay the plans to upgrade Thapthim Chumphae rice, including manufacturing into other prototype products such as Thapthim Chumphae rice milk, porridge and ready made Thapthim Chumphae rice, etc. The assistance covered design of the production place and packaging place of the rice that is in accordance with the standard. However, the community enterprise still lacks the milling machine that separate husk from rice and brown rice, the manufacturing building. At present, the enterprise still has to rely on hiring rice mills in other communities and so the production power is not adequate for the increasing market.”
Khun Witsarut Pisarn, Head of the Northeast Operation Unit of Advance Infor Service, Public Company explained about the support by AIS. “AIS, besides emphasizing development of digital infrastructure that will help upgrade Thai people’s quality of life, is aware of social building and sustainability of the quality of life of Thai people in all dimensions. For AIS to be part of this support, it is considered our integration and collaboration with our allies to deploy the competency of community enterprise that promotes agricultural occupation, or the Thapthim Chumphae rice. We are donating the rice mill in order to increase the production power of the rice, which is a health alternative, to reduce cost in hiring rice mills, and thus there will be sustainable income building from the increasing quantity of rice and other rice products. This is like the preparation for extension of market for the community enterprise.
Dr. Apirachai Wongsriworapol, Director of Khon Kaen University Science Park thanked AIS for compiling the integrated power, the governmental, the educational and the private/community enterprise sectors to fulfill the Innovation Roadmap. The support of AIS is the development of raw material administration and management processes in the supply chain to extend from the upstream level to the GMP HACCP standard in the mid-stream level. Khon Kaen University by the Science Park and the allies are determined to deploy the resources for all sectors to take part in the planning, exchanging of knowledge and upgrading the local raw material, “Thapthim Chumphae rice” as an innovative product that opens a chance of market at the downstream level. The end result would be economic security of the Northeast in the future.
