KKU representatives attend an MOU ceremony on the economy, culture and tourism, and public health online collaboration between Khon Kaen Province and Fujian city, People’s Republic of China, to strengthen Maritime Silk Road through the 21st Century.

On September 16, 2020, at Smart Learning Room, Learning and Teaching Innovation Building, Khon Kaen University, KKU representatives led by Ass. Prof. Dr. Acharawan Topark-ngarm and Ms. Netdao Chamroendararasmee, Acting Director of International Affairs Division, honored an MOU ceremony on economy, culture and tourism, and public health online collaboration between Khon Kaen province and Fujian city, People’s Republic of China, to support the strengthening relationship between the People’s Republic of China and Thailand in terms of economy, culture and tourism, and public health. On this occasion, Mr. Woratas Thuleechan, Deputy Governor of Khon Kaen Province, presided over the event, and other government sectors attended to witness. Moreover, there were collaborations with many other countries such as Lao PDR, the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Philippines, and Indonesia on economy, industry, and culture and tourism to rally against the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic. The People’s Republic of China and the ASEAN region had strengthened relationships for some time until they formed a community partnership to build Maritime Silk Road in the 21st Century. Fujian city is one of the major gateways of China to the Asia Pacific. Fujian and ASEAN have strong relationships on commerce, investment and industry. However, for today’s situation, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the safety, health and economy of the world, and is a challenge for social development. According to the situation, Fujian city has taken on a key role in assisting the ASEAN region and sister cities, such as by donating medical supplies and sharing their experience with COVID-19. Finally, this MOU ceremony strengthened our relations and economic community.
