Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University and the charity concert, featuring 7 artists on June 15, 2019 at Mo Din Daeng Room, Faculty of Medicine
June 15, 2019 – Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University held a charity concert, the 3rd ‘Dang Sang Thong Nai Duang Jai’. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul MD, Khon Kaen University President, presided over the event. Asst. Prof. Dr. Waranut Pitipat, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry conveyed a reporting speech. Crowds of administrators, lecturers, and alumni were among the audience. The concert took place at Mo Din Daeng Room, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.
This charity concert, the 3rd ‘Dang Sang Thong Nai Duang Jai’ was organized to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Faculty of Dentistry of Khon Kaen University, as a fund-raising activity in order to assist patients with oral cancer who receive treatment at Faculty of Dentistry. The concert also commemorate His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Waranut Pitipat, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry related that oral cancer was found during the past ten years increasing from 4% to 8% and the incidence is increasing. As the first dentistry school in the Northeast with direct responsibility over this and the vision towards being the Center of Excellence in Oral cancer in the future, this concert is organized to mobilize fund for to mobilize funds for developing potential in diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with oral cancer in the Northeast, most of whom are from low-income families with limitations in accessibility to receive treatment.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul MD said, “The charity concert, the 3rd ‘Dang Sang Thong Nai Duang Jai’ truly supports KKU’s social dedication work, and the vision of Faculty of Dentistry to be the Center of Excellence in Oral cancer in the future.
“Today, we receive cooperation from official and private sectors, and those who donated for the project. Thanks are extended to the 7 artists who are here today. I’m grateful to all of the committee members who assisted in holding this event, said the President.
Ajarn Ratchaneekorn Sawisit, Senior Professional Dentist of Samsung Hospital, Khon Kaen, an alumnus from the 12th class who attended this concert said that she always feels attached to KKU. After receiving the bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the faculty, she has assisted in the faculty’s activities. She is impressed with the concert and all of the great singers. “Coming here today is like a reunion with friends. I hope that the concert will be held again every year. I’d like to invite everyone to join this merit-making activity as it is enjoyable to listen to beautiful songs and at the same time to make merit for patients with oral cancer who needs a great amount of money for treatment.”
This charity concert was under the theme ‘Love Songs on the Play Lists’. The concert was honored to have Khun Teeranai NaNongkhai, Khun Pijika Jittaputta, Khun Saran Khungbanpot, Khun Kittinan Chinsamran (Kit the Voice), and Khun Kornkan Sutthikoses to sing beautiful songs. Invited MCs included Khun Niti Chaichidatorn (Khun Pompam) and Khun Warapan Saptanaudom (Khun Jaeng). Donation is still accepted.
