The Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy at Khon Kaen University proudly congratulates Mr. Sorrawit Kaewbiang, a first-year student in the Accountancy program, for being named one of Thailand’s Outstanding Youths of 2025. This prestigious recognition, awarded by the Ministry of Education, celebrates his exceptional achievements and contributions to society.
As part of the honor, Mr. Sorrawit had the privilege of meeting Prime Minister Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who offered her words of encouragement, and receiving a commemorative award from Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob, the Minister of Education. The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Santi Maitri Building, Government House, Bangkok.
The Outstanding Youth Award is presented annually to individuals who exemplify diligence, honesty, academic excellence, and strong moral character. Recipients are also recognized for their dedication to community service and their role as positive role models for society. This year’s event aimed to inspire children and youth to embrace their potential, contribute to their communities, and uphold the 2025 National Children’s Day motto: “Every opportunity is a learning experience; adapt and move forward to a future of your own choosing.”
For Mr. Sorrawit, this marks the third time he has been recognized for his outstanding contributions. His first accolade came in 2023 when, as a vocational student, he received the Outstanding Youth Award and met then-Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha. In 2024, he was honored for his contributions to morality, ethics, and virtue, meeting Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin. Now, as a university student, he continues to shine, earning the 2025 Outstanding Youth Award and the opportunity to meet Prime Minister Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
Beyond his academic success, Mr. Sorrawit has been actively involved in various leadership and volunteer roles. He serves as a subcommittee member of the Khon Kaen University Student Council, focusing on education and public health, where he listens to and addresses student concerns. He has also participated in numerous university-organized activities, such as assisting flood victims in Nong Khai Province and contributing to the Si Than Festival parade. Balancing his studies with his passion for community service, Mr. Sorrawit remains committed to making a positive impact.
Looking ahead, Mr. Sorrawit aspires to become an external auditor or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and eventually a university lecturer in accounting. He hopes to inspire future generations of students and contribute to the development of high-quality graduates in the accounting field.
“Doing good deeds and making sacrifices bring joy, as long as they cause no harm and benefit both ourselves and society,” Mr. Sorrawit shared. “The rewards may not always be public recognition, but the happiness, memories, and smiles of those we help. I am determined to continue creating meaningful contributions for myself, my community, and my country.”
