KKU held a big event to honor those who bring reputation to KKU by inventing, providing knowledge or doing good deeds to the society
ON Friday May 31, 2019 at the Golden Jubilee Convention – Khon Kaen University held the “2019 Appreciation and Congratulations Ceremony”. This event is meant to be an occasion that promotes and supports staff members through appreciation of those who have done good deeds and brought reputations to KKU. It builds moral support among all so that everyone will try to invent or initiate something good for the community. This year 233 staff members are on the honorable list. The event was honored by Mr. Surapon Phetwara, a qualified member of Khon Kaen University Council to give a congratulatory address. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rachapon Santiwarakorn, Vice President for Human Resources gave a reporting speech to Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul MD, President of Khon Kaen University who presided over the ceremony.
The “2019 Appreciation and Congratulations Ceremony” this year awarded an honorary administrator award to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Triratanasirichai, the 10th Khon Kaen University President who was in office for 2 terms and has changed the university towards the best in many dimensions under the policy “We will step forward together”. This policy was translated into strategies for administration towards excellence and for deploying KKU until the university has been awarded a lot of administrative prizes. Mr. Surapon Phetwara, a qualified member of Khon Kaen University Council represented the President of the council to present this award to the former President.
Mr. Surapon Phetwara said, “Khon Kaen University is a higher institution that has taken important roles in preparing graduates, conducting research, providing academic services, maintaining and nurturing art and culture. The university is the center of bodies of knowledge, innovations, work outcomes, and many products that support development of communities, the society and the country, especially the Northeast. The graduates, staff members, innovations, and work outcomes that are KKU products are valuable and accepted nationally and internationally. The success and reputation of Khon Kaen University partially comes from those of you who receive the prized today. I truly appreciate the awardees and congratulate you all. You have dedicated yourselves towards your work and merit the prizes and honor. I also appreciate Khon Kaen University to hold this event, which is an activity that truly builds and promotes smart and good people, as well as develops manpower for social and national development. It is the activity that should continue into the future.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rachapon Santiwarakorn, Vice President for Human Resources said, “Khon Kaen University sees the importance of all staff members working for the university in all aspects, no matter whether it is instruction, research, academic service, nurturing art and culture. We therefore hold this event to present the prizes and honor those who have dedicated themselves, been doing hard work towards this success. All of you have produced outstanding work outcomes. Each year, there are staff members who have succeeded in their fields as well as those who have been promoted to a higher position, who have completed their higher degrees, and who have been awarded at the national and international levels. They deserve appreciation by all is us. So this event is organized every year. In 2019, there are 233 staff members receiving awards and honorable prizes.”
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul MD, President of Khon Kaen University said, “The success and reputation of Khon Kaen University comes from all of you who have worked to your fullest capacity and efficiency under the vision of Khon Kaen University Council for the university to become a “World-class leading Research University. The council has set 3 key missions, namely, the People, the Ecological, and the Spiritual aspects that will lead us towards our goal.”
“Khon Kaen University must undergo great transformation in education, research, academic service, human resource management, and organizational administration in order that the development and advancement of the university will be sustainable under the higher education crises in the country that are derived from disruptive technologies as well as the reduced birth rates. The 4-year university administration has been stipulated for 2020-2023, which includes 11 strategies, 39 tactics, and 88 work plans that will enable KKU to change, to have undergone the higher education crisis with sustainable progress and to become the principle institution for the development of the region and the country.”
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul MD added, “During the past years, KKU has leapt in it advancement in academic and technologies, with evident research work in the eyes of those in the nation and abroad. We are accepted as a leading national research university and also in Asean. The past development enabled us to accumulate bodies of knowledge and expertise until we have the strength to be a leading institution in terms of academic knowledge and research which are valuable and can be used for social and community development and problem solution. This is the objective that we hold on to, following the philosophy of university foundation.”
“The event today is a good opportunity for Khon Kaen University to appreciate, honor, and thank all of you. We congratulate and are proud of your success and of your being a good example for all. This year, we also have the honorary prize for Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kittichai Triratanasirichai, the 10th Khon Kaen University President, who, all through the 8 years in the office, has led KKU towards being recognized at the international level. This is obvious through the prizes KKU received during these years. I hope that the success and the awards all of you receive today will continuously enhance and support your work for KKU, the Isan community and the country,” Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul MD ended.
The “2019 Appreciation and Congratulations Ceremony” was participated by a lot of staff who also brought flower bouquets to congratulate prize awardees. The atmosphere went on with pride and happiness of all.
