June 29, 2024 – Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University, organized a water color workshop, “Architectural Water Color Line Drawing”, at the lsan Creative Festival 2024. There were alot of interested people attending, reflecting the unlimited attractive power of colors and imagination.
Asst. Prof. Pornnarong Channuwong, Ph.D., a full-time lecturer of the Architectural Department of the Faculty of Architecture, the trainer, explained about the background and inspiration of water-color drawing that it began from his passion in design and drawing, as well as the experience from his studies at the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University, that allowed him to experience quality water colors. This led to his interest to continuously train and improve the skill. At present, Ajarn Pornnarong has a lot of water color paintings and has thus opened his own gallery to share the inspiration. The trainees today were from all age ranges. They were able to train and express their imagination from painting with water colors under the comfortable atmosphere. It was not necessary for the trainees; including secondary school students, former architectural students, the general public, and the elderly; to have any basic skill. Everyone paid attention and drew according to the question set. The workshop trained them in visioning, thinking and analyzing, and let them express their imagination through the colors. It was hoped that the trainees received inspiration, discovered new vision in drawing and were able to express through water colors.
Miss Prapatsorn Chaoprathum (Taengmo), a 4th year student of the Faculty of Law, Khon Kaen University, one of the trainees, related that she is interested in art and architecture and therefore decided to register for the workshop. She was impressed with the friendly atmosphere, the nice trainer and his easy to understand teaching technique. This made she feel relaxed and was able to draw. She intended to continuously train herself in water color painting, and hoped she could attend more similar workshops.
Water color painting workshop is
one activity in the Isan Creative Festival 2024, which was organized by the Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University. The objectives are to promote knowledge and understanding in art, stimulate creative thinking, be a good example of the activity that promotes creative thinking and opens a chance for people to learn new skills without limitation in age, gender, or experience, thus reflecting a good model that promotes creative thinking and the important role of the Faculty of Architecture, Khon Kaen University, in enhancing art, culture and society.
