Office of Academic Service, KKU, visited the Thai Buffalo Conservation Village to discuss developmental approaches

July 2, 2024 – Office of Academic Service, Khon Kaen University, carried out the Participatory Rural Appraisal Project by visiting the area to discuss approaches for developing the Thai Buffalo Conservation Village with the Local Wisdom Clever Buffalo Enterprise group, Ban Non Sawang, Nawa Sub-district, Phu Wiang District, Khon Kaen. A Holistic Analysis was conducted with community participation, on the context of the target community, by considering the area problems and needs of the community.

Assoc. Prof. Chuchat Kamollert, Ph.D., DVM., Director of the Office of Academic Service, explained about the objective of the area visit. From the carrying out of the Omsin Yuwapat Rak Thin Project, the Office sees the chance in developing community enterprises. The Office therefore took some officers to survey the needs of the enterprises to decide the issues for joint developmental work.

Mr. Tanapong Unpanrim, President of Nawa Sub-District Administrative Organization, Phu Wiang District, Khon Kaen, welcomed the KKU team and related about the background of the work with the Local Wisdom Thai Clever Buffalo Enterprise Group. Analyses were done in many dimensions, and this time, with the community leaders, the data have been surveyed to compile secondary information about the physical, biological, economic, social, natural resources, and environmental aspects in the sub-district.
