Friday June 28, 2024 – the Human Resource Section, Division of Human Resources, Khon Kaen University organized the “HR DAY – 60 Years of KKU for the Society” (driving forward SMART organization value). Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., Acting President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the opening session, which was attended by a number of administrators and staff of Khon Kaen University. The event, broadcast life on KKU online channel, was organized at the 50th Year Building (Wissawa Ruamjai), Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University.
Asst. Prof. Pattarawit Polpinit, Ph.D., Acting Vice President for Human Resources, said that the Hyman Resource Section, Division of Human Resources has one mission to locate, develop, enhance the competency of and provide caring for personnel at all level. The Section sees the importance in enhancement of personnel conduct that reflects the identity and image of Khon Kaen University’s policy. This has been done through obtaining opinions from many sections, from generation to generation, from various departments and divisions, and from experienced individuals who have built guidelines for good practices, resulting in role models in different aspects. The overall outcome is “SMART” that will be the leading work for KKU personnel to develop themselves and the society in accordance with the “SMART” value.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., Acting President of Khon Kaen University, said in his opening speech that Khon Kaen University has reached the 60 years of dedication in academic development, to become a leader in education, research, academic service and art and cultural nurturing at the national and international level. The implementation has been continuously carried out through learning experiences, creating of innovations for the community by project activities done by lecturers and students. The work outcomes have been evident and covered all aspects. It is time that Khon Kaen University folks join together to sustainably deploy and the creativity and development for the society, through the value of “SMART KKU”.

At the event, the new video clip introducing the value was launched. This was followed by a performance by the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, special talks on: “The Role of Leadership in Shaping Organizational Culture” by Dr. Bawornnan Thongkalaya, Advisor of Thailand Personnel Management Association, and on “Culture Transformation: Strategies for Success” by Khun Payong Sriwanit, General Manager of Krungthai Bank Company.
Moreover, there was the discussion session for learning and sharing of good practices under the topic: “Transfer and Deployment of Organizational Value” by the University administrators. The event atmosphere was fun and everyone joined in creating SMART KKU. The activity today was the beginning in transferring policies to each group of administrators to carry out, towards ‘SMART KKU’, and to make the international ranking of Khon Kaen University higher.
