Scopus is the database website that compiles international journals and research articles, and is used for retrieval of research articles, information about researchers’ publications and information about various journals. Scopus has just announced the 2023 CiteScore in the Engineering and Applied Science Research (EASR) journal. The Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University, is ranked at Quartile 2 (Q2) in General Engineering, with the Percentile of 51%, Rank 149/307, and is ranked at Quartile 3 (Q3) in Computer Science: Computer Science Applications, with the Percentile of 30%, Rank 570/817, quoted from the Website: www.Scopus.com
Assoc. Prof. Jeeranuch Sngiamsak, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Innovation and International Affairs explained that the ranking of journals in Scopus is very important for the quality assessment of research works and various academic articles. The higher CiteScore shows the acceptance and importance of the journal in the academic circle. With the Engineering and Applied Science Research (EASR) Journal of the Faculty of Engineering moving up to Quartile 2 (Q2) in Engineering: General Engineering shows the progress and success of research works of the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University and the acceptance of KKU research at the international level. In addition, the Engineering and Applied Science Research (EASR) journal is also ranked at Quartile 3 (Q3) in the field of Computer Science: Computer Science Applications. This demonstrates the success in the application of computer science. The CiteScore and Quartile ranking are the major tools for researchers and academic institutions for assessment and development of research quality. The higher rank will lead to higher reliability and excellence of the Faculty of Engineering, Khon Kaen University at the international level.
