Friday November 17, 2923 at the President Meeting Room, 6th Floor, Sirikunakorn Building – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University; Prof. Thidarat Boonmars, Ph.D., Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise; administrators and lecturers from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, Faculty of Medicine; Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Nursing, and the Academic Clinical Research Office (ACRO), welcomed Dr. Chung Myung Hoon, Vice-Chairman, Strategy & Planning Bureau and the executives of K-MEDI Hub, South Korea, on the occasion of their visit to Khon Kaen University to discuss collaboration in research, development of medical innovations and other activities related to the fields of health sciences, research and innovations.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University mentioned in his welcoming address that as Khon Kaen University is a medical hub with innovation and medical excellence, the University is very happy to develop collaboration with K-MEDI Hub of South Korea. During the period from June 30 to August 2, 2023, an MOU was signed between Khon Kaen University and K-MEDI Hub in Daegu, South Korea, with the aims for exchange of medical innovations and research, and exchange of students, lecturers, and researchers. The discussion on this occasion would lead to strong collaboration in the future.
Dr. Chung Myung Hoon, Vice-Chairman, Strategy & Planning Bureau replied that he was very pleased to meet with the administrators of Khon Kaen University. The meeting today would greatly benefit the collaboration in medical innovations. Khon Kaen University and K-MEDI Hub hold similar policies in medicine that accent research development towards Global Health Care. On behalf of K-MEDI- Hub, Dr. Chung Myung Hoon thanked the administrators of Khon Kaen University for the warm welcome.
The delegation from K-MEDI Hub later visited the following faculties to meet with their administrators: Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, Faculty of Engineering and the Academic Clinical Research Office (ACRO) to exchange experiences about medical innovations and discuss the means to develop the innovations for the community.
During the meeting, the delegation of both institutions discussed key medical issues in dentistry, pharmaceutical sciences, medicine, and public health. There were brainstorming, exchange of ideas and proposing of useful projects. Future trend includes extension of research and production of innovations together until products are developed in the future.
