Outstanding Works

During his office as NSTDA Director, Prof Chukit has initiated and expedited works in science, mathematics, and technological education, the examples of which are:

Course book for training teachers in calculation and coding; founding of KOSEN Project or the development project of manpower in engineering, technology and innovation; initiation work in Digital Transformation in online lesson: “Project 14”; national education assessment of basic level (O-NET) in science and mathematics;

Professor Chukit has brought his long-term knowledge and expertise to construct research process and mechanism for real research utilization that will solve urgent problems of the country and of industry. He has begun the development of NSTDA Core Business by selecting research work from which science and technology can be put into real use and benefit people in a broad scale. At the beginning, 4 topics of the research that meets the socio-economic needs were selected:

Traffy Fondue – or management of urban problems based on the Platform Revolution concept to improve the ‘User Journey’, including: acting as a call center, solving, and managing urban problem to increase qualities and efficiency, assisting governmental organizations to receive requests from the public and assisting administrative officers to deal with the problems efficiently and quickly.

FoodSERP – a platform providing service in production functional food, cosmeceutical products, and functional ingredients. The service covers all through the production chain and tailor made production for consumers, which is done in one stop service, with connection with allies that take care of regulations and standards, organizations that take care in terms of technical aspect, entrepreneurs, community enterprises, start-up, SMEs, and big entrepreneurs including the business network under the National Industrial Assembly and Chamber of Commerce.

Digital Healthcare Platform – or Digital Healthcare Platform that deals with problems of the public related to the crowdedness of public health services. The work involves cooperation with the public health service units under the Ministry of Public Health, under the local administrative organizations, medical professionals, National Health Security Office, through the use of digital technology.

Thailand i 4.O Platform or the platform that provides service in digital transformation for the industrial sector and full cycle production to solve the problem in manufacturing and increase to competitive competency of the country. The work begins from evaluation of the readiness at present and the second step is planning the Transformation Roadmap with details and clarification of implantation. The third step is system installation with the help from Thailand i4.0 Platform.

Professor Dr. Chukit began his work in Thailand as a lecturer in physics at Suranaree University of Technology. He has carried out research work until he was granted the professorship position when he was only 34 years of age. He used to be the director of the Research Center for Physics, Calculation and Theories, Center for Excellence in Physics and President of Thai Physics Association. He was the project head in founding the co-research institute to build the optical conveying system 5.2, which is under the cooperation of 3 institutes, namely, Suranaree University of technology, National Nano Technology Center and Synchrotron Research Institute. The work has been a success until synchrotron is available for researchers and consumers today. The main objective of the use of synchrotron is to build an SUT-NANOTEC-SLRI Beamline and the Synchrotron X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy Station.

As the Director of NSTDA, Prof. Chukit has laid the vision and strategies for NSTDA to be the principle resource of the country in terms of utilizing the benefits from science, technology and innovation by governmental and private organizations. The key goal is to strengthen the research ecology and innovation that will lead to answers of major problems and lead to leaping development of the country. NSTDA will apply knowledge, tools and expertise to build research processes and mechanisms that will lead to true utilization for benefits of all. Problem solution is the urgent agendum of the country. People must be have access to research that can be put into use and effect.

Professor Chukit is broadly accepted in research at both the national and international level, has been awarded a lot of prizes and has published over 100 outstanding research articles that appear in Web of Science, with over 7,000 citations and h-index of 40. Many research studies of his have big impact on the development of materials for electronics equipment and devices. It can be seen from his works, his dedication to research, the prizes bestowed upon him, and his expertise, that he truly deserves being appointed as the President of the Alliance of International Science Organizations (ANSO) 2024-2026.
