KKU opens mental health care to decrease the depression condition and empower students

October 5, 2023 – Faculty of Education, Department of Psychology and Human Resource Development, and the Student Development and Alumni Relation Division jointly organized the “Positive Charge and Stimulation for Step-by-Step Proceeding” meeting. A place is now open for students, staff and those interested to receive psychological consultation, assessment of tension, depression and worries. Assoc. Prof. Issara Kanjuk, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education presided over the opening session, which was held at Jean Barry Library, First Floor, Faculty of Education.


Ajarn Chanita Pimsri, Ph.D., a lecturer of the Department of Psychology and Human Resource Development and Khun Nittaya Polsak, an educational and occupational guidance specialist from the Student Development and Alumni Relation Division were the two trainers who also provided psychological consultation, assess conditions of tension, depression and worries. The event was aimed at decreasing tension under the situation that brings impact on mental condition from studying, working and way of living.


Assoc. Prof. Issara Kanjuk, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Education revealed that the 4 years on campus for students is not an easy thing, for the society is full of arousing items and pressure, from themselves and from others. With the purpose to have students complete their studies with knowledge and happiness, the psychological consultation service has been opened. The main objectives are to enhance positive power among students, empower them to learn and enhance their self-development. In addition, the service also covers assessment of tension, depression and worries to improve mental health of students and build confidence among them so that they can use their potentiality to develop themselves and the society to the fullest extent.
Besides enabling students to receive necessary support to manage their tension and empowering them to step ahead, the service also covers training for students to share their experiences and approaches they use in mental health care. This brings about support and understanding among students and builds the culture in which mental health is seen as important in the students’ progressing society.
Students, staff and any interested individual can receive psychological consultation and assess the conditions of tension, depression and worries at Jean Barry Library, First Floor, Faculty of Education, every Thursday at 13.00 – 16.00 p.m.
