September 8, 2023 at 15:00 p.m. – Assoc. Prof. Orathai Pia-ura, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, led HU-SO delegates including Asst. Prof. Marasri Sothip, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Administration; Asst. Prof. Tananan Bunwanna, Ph.D.; Asst. Prof. Silapakit Teekantikul, Ph.D.; Ajarn Nguyen Thi Khanh; and some staff members to meet Mr. Chu Duc Dung, the Consul-General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Khon Kaen. The purpose of the visit was to discuss academic collaboration and to tighten the relationships between the two countries. The Dean also presented, on this occasion, a vase of flowers to congratulate the 78th Anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at Vietnam Consulate General, Khon Kaen.
The discussion of academic collaboration between the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Khon Kaen University and Vietnam Consulate General, Khon Kaen ended up successfully with agreement on similar needs to increase the number of both inbound and outbound students of the two countries. There is also the need to increase the number of exchange lecturers, researchers and staff, as well as to carry out activities that support and promote Vietnamese language such as Vietnamese Festival, special talks, etc. The discussion also went on to consider collaboration in establishing a Vietnamese Study Center in order to promote the academic implementation between institutions in the future.
