September 6-7, 2023 – Office of Academic Service, Khon Kaen University led over 35 members of the KKU Lifelong Education Program Development Committee to Thailand Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization) under the learning and sharing program to get ready for the development and management of programs for Lifelong Education. Here, KKU team learned about program or curricular revisions that correspond to professional standards, which, when developed, the students will receive their professional qualifications. The second place the KKU team visited was at King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi, and learned more about lifelong education under the concept of Micro Credentials that certifies and develops specific competency through Digital Certificate. The purpose was for deployment of KKU transformation education that is based on Lifelong Education.

September 6, 2023 – Assoc. Prof. Chuchat Kamollert, Ph.D., DVM, Director of the Office of Academic Services, KKU and the committee consisting of members from different faculties visited Thailand Professional Qualification Institute. Miss Worachanatip Janthanu, Deputy Director of the Professional Qualification Institute (Public Organization) (TPQI) and the administrators of the Institute welcomed Khon Kaen delegates. The professional standards, as explained by the Deputy Director, have been developed by experts from many professions of the accepted organizations and institutes. Therefore, the standards truly reflect the requirements of the workplaces, and are the mechanisms certifying the competency of people, guaranteeing that they are able to carry out their job. The end results would be career progress. The Institute is ready to promote students who have graduated from the programs that meet the professional standards to receive their professional qualifications that help qualify them for their future occupation. TPQI Deputy Director added that there is the need for TPQI to cooperate with Khon Kaen University in incorporating the existing programs as part of TPQI for training programs certified by TPQI. Students and people who are interested can take these courses that will result in upgrading of national manpower and competitive competency. Moreover, the graduates will be people needed by the job market at present.

September 7, 2023 – KKU team visited King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi, for learning and sharing on “Management of Lifelong Education under the Concept of Micro Credentials” of KMUTT. Assoc. Prof. Bandit Tipakorn, Ph.D., Advisor to the President for Learning Innovation, KMUTT, welcomed KKU delegates and Dr. Klangjai Sitthitaworn, Assistant to the President for Educational Technology Development related about the objectives of lifelong education under the Micro Credentials concept. This approach will help the working people to choose their necessary skill and be able to Re-Skill or Up-Skill for the growth in their career. These people will be encouraged to be interested in new things that can happen at any time. They can be proved of their capacity from their experiences. No matter what approach is taken to learn, the important thing is the ability to carry out the work. The Assistant to the President of KMUTT then answered questions from the KKU team.
