August 21-24, 2023 – Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University organizes a workshop on “Crash Course in Dental Implant”, which will include both short and long courses. Asst. Prof. Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj, D.D.M., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Khon Kaen University presided over the opening ceremony. The workshop, which is taking place at Huan Ton Noon Hotel, Khon Kaen, is participated by over 100 dentists all over Thailand.
Asst. Prof. Ajiravudh Subarnbhesaj, D.D.M., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry explained, “The Crash Course in Dental Implant Workshop is organized for the trainees to acquire skills in diagnosis, appropriately plan the dental implant treatment, and perform implants on a patient model. Participants will learn about materials used in dental implants and, after training, will be able to do their job on dental prosthetics related to implants, and manage maintenance of implants. The participating dentists, trainers and trainees are also able to exchange their knowledge, experiences and analyze crash course in dental implants.
The training is divided into 2 projects, lasting 8 months from August 2023 until March 2024.
Project 1 – August 21-24, 2023: Lectures and seminars on dental implants and practices on imitated models related to dental implants in various systems.
Project 2 – August 25, 2023 until March 25, 2023: Training of treatment planning and real clinical practices on patients (2 cases per participant), where the participants will find their own patient. The position for implant will be the position with adequate bone that does not require bone implant or sinus lift before operation and implant. The participants will be divided into 4 groups of 5. Each group is supervised by 3 advisers who give advice on treatment plan, control of clinical works from the day the patient is accepted until completion of treatment. The appointment for treatment of patients in each group is to be assigned by the advisors.
