May 27, 2022 – Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University holds an opening ceremony for MDKKU Service at the MDKKU Care Day 2022 @The Collab Central Khon Kaen, under the campaign “50th Anniversary of KKU Medicine, unending good health for the public”. Assoc. Prof. Somsak Thiamkao, M.D., Assistant to the Dean for the Hospital of the Faculty conveyed the opening speech. Assoc. Prof. Apichat Jirawutthipong, M.D., Dean of the Faculty presided over the event and delivered the opening address. The event took place at the COLLAB: Co-Working Space, Floor G, Central Plaza, Khon Kaen.
Assoc. Prof. Somsak Thiamkao, M.D., Assistant to the Dean for the Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine reported on behalf of the Director of Srinagarind Hospital Service Unit at Central Plaza, Khon Kaen that MDKKU Service is established with an aim to provide more convenient access to the public who want to receive medical treatment and also to reduce the crowdedness at Srinagarind Hospital. The other aim is to follow the strict prevention against contagious diseases under the New Normal Style. The MDKKU Service provides many services such as dispatching medicines to clients’ home in order to lessen the crowd, yearly health check-up, health consult, making or postponing appointments or other coordination, just like the unit is a branch of the hospital. The unit has been in operation since July 1, 2021. Now, services have been upgraded and improved to respond to the needs of the clients. The service hours are from 11:00 a.m. until 19:00 p.m. every day, with doctors stationing there at all time. The unit shows the intention of the Faculty in promoting the image of the Faculty and health of Khon Kaen citizens and people from the provinces nearby. The MDKKU Service is now officially opened with the MDKKU Care Day 2022 activities.
Assoc. Prof. Apichat Jirawutthipong, M.D., Dean of the Faculty of Medicine mentioned in his opening speech, “Even though Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, is a governmental hospital, we always try to offer new useful services for people and make certain the public have access to quality service with convenience. We believe that there are few state hospitals in the country that can open a unit in a mall like this. It can be said that MDKKU Service is a branch of Srinagarind Hospital and a new type of service that we are proud of. Past statistics show that the needs for medical services here increase and so it really answers our intention to operate the branch. We are grateful to the cooperation from the administration teamwork for this success.”
There was a ribbon cutting to formerly open the MDKKU Service Unit by Assoc. Prof. Apichat Jirawutthipong, M.D., Dean of the Faculty. Among distinguished attendants were Assoc. Prof. Songsak Kiatchusakul, M.D., Director of Srinagarind Hospital; Asst. Prof. Chawakit Phumboonchu. M.D., Vice Dean for the Excellence Medical Hub; Assoc. Prof. Somsak Thiamkao, M.D., Assistant to the Dean for the Hospital; Khun Nuchjaree Homnan, Head of the Nursing Section; Khun Nisa Chaphumuang, General Manager of Central Plaza, Khon Kaen. All made a visit to the MDKKU Services at the plaza after the opening ceremony.
The Fair also featured the MDKKU Care Day 2022 activities such as medical check-up, workshop by doctors on clean food that decreases blood pressure, a talk with doctors on “high risk of loss”, treating hypertension before it is late, by experts. A lot of people came to the event all day.
