KKBSX Platform is a system developed from collaboration between the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy and the Faculty of Medicine of Khon Kaen University. The system is an extension from KKUMEDX Platform. KKBSX Platform is for instruction, teaching and learning support, and a channel for public relation of various short courses. The system can accommodate both degree and non-degree program instruction and short training, in which learners can easily access from anywhere and all through 24 hours to increase their knowledge in business. The system presents modern lessons and instructional media that catch up with the present business world. It enables those involved to face the technological transformation of the world, and is an important tool that will assist in developing the graduates’ qualities to meet the social requirements. The system also leads to the new instructional paradigm that enhances skills of professors, staff and students. Instruction is offered at any time, from any place, and for any person.
Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University explained, “KKBSX Platform launched today has been developed from the systems widely used around the world, especially the EdX system, which is for education development and is used in leading universities like Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). These universities use EdX in their instruction. Khon Kaen University once had a chance to make a study trip there, which led to collaboration with them. Therefore, we have introduced the system in our instruction. We decided to use the EdX system because we see that it will help improve the instruction at our university. Besides instruction, students under this system can interact with professors. The system also has the evaluation platform and is able to monitor learners’ behaviors. It is a very good system. For the KKBSX Platform, the university received support and assistance from the Faculty of Medicine, where they already have the KKUMEDX system that has continuously been improved until it is now very simple to use, enabling lecturers to construct their lessons easily without having to rely much on other technologies like graphic design or animation. Lessons can now be created rapidly and easily. The Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy has asked the Faculty of Medicine to help in developing the KKBSX Platform for constructing interesting lessons for their students. In the future, there will be more programs offered for life-ling learning and for those wishing to add to their occupational skills. I congratulate KKBS for opening the use of KKBSX Platform today. This tool will enhance the efficiency of the Faculty’s teaching and learning. KKBS has many programs and is entering the new paradigm of instruction that emphasize students to learn on their own. The platform will certainly be of great benefits to the Faculty.”
Assoc. Prof. Pensri Charoenwanit, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Accountancy (KKBS) said that KKBS sees the importance of digitalization, education transformation, and digital transformation; and thus developed this KKBSX Platform for full online teaching and learning. The Learning Management System will be the resource for business wisdom for infinite learning. “We have received good support from the university and experts from the Faculty of Medicine. This system is fully online and will help managing the knowledge contents for students as well as any people who are interested. KKBS also receives cooperation from Microsoft Thailand that opens a chance for people to develop their digital skill, IT and business administration and accountancy skills. Interested people can register online for various courses that KKBS offers and can learn at any time, from anywhere. KKBSX Platform and KKBS are pleased to welcome everyone to the learning resource.”
Assoc. Prof. Suraphon Weerasiri, M.D., Academic Advisor, Faculty of Medicine added about the development of KKBSX Platform. “KKBSX Platform is extended from KKUMEDX of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University. The Faculty saw that we have many medical centers in the faculty, which are different in terms of instruction in some parts. Therefore, we wanted to reduce these overlapping parts and enable students from different centers to equally have access to all academic contents. That was why we developed the online instruction under this KKUMEDX platform. We made a study trip to Harvard University and National University of Singapore. After the trip, the Faculty’s administrators, lecturers and personnel all took part in the development until the KKUMEDX system came into shape. The system is a resource that many faculties of KKU can use for the progress and benefits of their programs. We are happy that KKBS is going to use this system. We also intend to continue improving the system and work with any faculties that want to use it.”
